4 X AA Battery Holder With On/Off Switch
24 November 2022This case holds 4 AA batteries securely, with a latched base and provision for a securing screw. The switch on the lid operates with a firm movement and is marked with raised lettering. The switch rating is not known. Internal wiring is by metal strip. Corrosion resistance of the metal components is not known, but as with any battery case it is sensible to keep it as dry as possible. Lead length is ~150mm: the ends are bright and clean and can be soldered or crimped. The case is made to be as small as it can be, so if batteries are charged in-situ then the charging rate should be moderate. AAA batteries will fit with enough tension to make an adequate circuit. It would be difficult to make the case water resistant, as the lid includes a cutout for the switch and the base is open at one end. Note that the cover securing screw is not included. The cover closes firmly without it, but it seems like a penny-pinching oversight. The required screw is 2mmx8mm with a 0.65mm(?) pitch
