Digital Light Strip with Built-in WS2811 IC

Digital Addressable LED is a new and easy way to add complex lighting effects to any project. The difference between "analogue" and "digital" is the analogue-type strips have all the LEDs connected in parallel and it acts like one huge tri-colour LED and you can set the entire strip to any colour you want, but you can't control the individual LED's colours. For the "Digital" type, there are control chips (WS2811) embedded along the strip to interpret the digitally coded data to change the colour of individual LEDs.

LED strips come in 5M reels. There are 300 individually addressable 5050 Type LEDs in total so the strips feature a lot more LEDs closer together than some of the other models on the market. There is one WS2811 IC to control every group of three LEDs. At one end of the LED strip, there is a 3 pin JST SM plug and a 2 wire cable. At the another end, there is a JST SM receptacle and a 2 wire cable. The JST connector makes it easier to wire up without soldering. The 2 wire cable is used to inject power when you are joining LED strips together, this ensures ample power so the LEDs do not appear to lose brightness over longer installations.

The LED strip is made of a flexible material and can be gently bent around curved surfaces. The OP1494 has adhesive tape on the back for mounting. You can cut the LED to the length needed at the cutting line where JST can be attached. Easy to customise for different types of projects. The OP1494 is rated at IP20. It has no waterproof properties and is designed for indoor applications.

These strips are controlled by the OP1497 Controller module and remote (sold separately).
