A fantastic little battery charger capable of recharging different sized cells and different types of rechargeable battery chemistry. The charger has 4 battery bays, each designed to hold various cell sizes such as AA, AAA, C and D cells, as well as a 5th cell holder designed for recharging a 9V battery. Each battery bay has it's own set of smarts (Delta V-), which makes it extremely user friendly, allowing you to charge either 1 to 4 cells at a time. This charger has a switch to select the various battery chemistry's it can charge, which are Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, RAM(Rechargebale Alkaline Manganese), and standard Alkaline batteries. Also features an LED and an LCD screen to display and inform you of the battery charge status.

My thoughts on the purchase and the product

I was in a dilemma as my Arlec Universal NiCd Battery charger after 30 years was on its last legs and although I've tried to get a replacement before its been met with disappointment ! So after a number of weeks researching I decided to purchase the Intelligent Universal Fast Battery Charger RC999. The process was easy, the delivery really fast and the tracking accurate. After receiving the charger i went through recharging the build up of flat rechargeable and alkaline batteries that I had collected and was astounded as to firstly how fast the charger actually was and how easy it was to do the whole range of batteries. Finally I had found a fitting replacement and at least 1/2 the price the price of less suitable products. More than paid for itself in its first use and you cant put a value on how stress free the experience is.

I am sorry but I have not had the time to use this product, so it is a bit useless asking me how it is performing. I am a bit hesitant in using it for alkaline batteries as the staff at Jaycar tell me that there is no such thing as a charger for alkaline batteries and if there was the unit would blow up and cause a fire. Perhaps you might like to qualify this remark. I would appreciate that. Regardless I have given it 5 stars in the hope that it does what it is supposed to do,.
